Lendy and Ruthie, in the Studio

In 2016 two friends founded an art school called Seattle Artist League. The idea was that lots of people want to be creative, but not many people want to do it alone. Ruthie V. and Lendy Hensley met as teacher and student, and their friendship grew while painting and drawing together, visiting museums, talking about art, and making stuff. They believe everyone can benefit from a daily dose of art, whether it is through a weekly class, a workshop, studio work, or reading a daily blog post about an artist. At the League, we believe that art is a benefit to everyone.

Good ideas come from collaboration. We’ve sparked a dynamic community of active and engaged creatives. From people with long lost art degrees, to tech geeks, to people who would like some quality “me-time” – the League is an art school for people like you. JOIN US!
